This man-made Orchid, is a perfect match for any vivarium. Known for its gold and green foliage, Anoectochius Bette will look amazing planted on the foreground of your vivarium. Once a year, Anoectochilus Bette will boom a small yellow-greenish flower. A good thing about this orchid is that it is medium in size and will only grow up to 12”. Make sure to grow in medium to low light to ensure your Anoectochilus Bette is healthy and will not drop leaves. The wide- set leaves on this orchid will provide good shelter and a place for your frogs to lay their eggs. The best condition for this orchid is a damp area with no standing water. This plant will grow easily and strongly in your vivarium.


Origin: Man made cross-breed


Mature size: Tall - can grow up to 12 inches


Light: Moderate light. 


Planting: Jewel Orchids should be watered regularly as they don’t like to be dry. An important thing to remember is that don’t like standing water either so wait until the soil begins to dry out before watering again. Don’t over-water your Jewel Orchids as dry Jewel Orchids are easier to protect than those damaged by damp conditions.


Water: Keep soil well drained. Always keep the soil slightly moist but never soggy. 


Temperature: They need high humidity and warm temperatures. They do well in a terrarium at 70 to 80F: 20 to 28C 


Propagation: Remove new plant from mother plant and replant into moist soil. You will be able to get it to root by placing it in water. Plant will establish and grow roots in a short time.
